Police responded to the 10000 block of Pearmain Street about 11:35 p.m.
OAKLAND — Gunfire in East Oakland on Tuesday night ended the life of a 49-year-old man, police said.
Authorities did not identify the man early Wednesday, pending the notification of family members. Police said he was in an Oakland resident who lived in the area of the shooting. Officers responded about 11:35 p.m. to the 10000 block of Pearmain Street and found the man wounded and down, police said. He died at the scene.
Police said investigators were still trying to determine a motive for the shooting. They did not announce any arrests.
