The Ondo house of assembly has asked Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the deputy governor, to withdraw the multiple court cases he filed against his impeachment.the impeachment process against Aiyedatiwa following the intervention of stakeholders.
Speaking on Wednesday after a meeting with a delegation of the house and the All Progressives Congress reconciliation committee in Abuja, Abdullahi Ganduje, APC national chairman, hadCommenting on the development in a statement, Olatunji Oshati, spokesperson of the house, said withdrawing the suits would ensure a genuine political solution to the crisis.
“This would allow the stakeholders to freely discuss the settlement proposals and prevent actions or comments over a matter that is still subjudice. “The House was only exercising its responsibility under S.188 of the 1999 Constitution, having received a petition accusing the Deputy Governor of some allegations of gross misconduct and abuse of office.”Oshati expressed the desire of the house leadership to further consult with its members across party lines, on the political solution as proposed by the APC.
