Colleges throughout North Texas are evaluating how students and staff will safely begin their spring semesters in the midst of a significant COVID-19 surge.

Tiarra Williams is a senior at the University of North Texas in Denton. She says she appreciates UNT’s protocols.

"Adulting is kind of hard, and especially doing it in a pandemic," Williams said. "And we don’t know how these variants are going to affect each of us. So the university is like, ‘We have these resources. You don’t have to do it alone and figure it out by yourself.’ And I think that’s really good."TCU has updated its COVID-19 protocols with a stronger position on face coverings.
