The Olentangy Orange girls wrestling team rallied to beat host Marysville 42-36 on Sunday for its second consecutive state duals championship.
Olentangy Orange coach Vanessa Oswalt was nervous but confident as her team trailed Marysville 24-9 in the title match of the second annual Ohio High School Wrestling Coaches Association girls state dual tournament.
Talia Mitchell clinched the championship by pinning Lori Grimes in 48 seconds at 190 pounds. Orange won six of the final eight bouts, including five by pin. “This shows that we stay consistent with hard work and putting our girls in position to where they can grow,” Oswalt said. “The girls work hard and we work them hard. We want to show them what discipline and hard work can get them. We’re at the top and we’re going to continue to work.”
