This N.J. group is giving old-school roller skating a comeback! 🛼 Are you rollin’ up to the next event?
Jaclyn Duncan is a classical musician who also happens to love roller skating.
“Yeah, we have a whole mix of levels of skaters,” Duncan said. “There are people who just got skates FOR this. Duncan said, “It’s obvious, I think, that Trenton, New Jersey wants to be skating. It’s a beautiful thing, everyone’s smiling, teaching each other moves.” The events are free to skaters but not without costs. Volunteers sweep the floor in preparation for the night, looking like hockey goalies, clearing the crease of snowy ice chips. People bring food and volunteers flip hamburgers and hot dogs on the park’s open flame grill.
“Capital Skating rink provided a place where on average 750+ skaters of all ages came for fun, recreation and to stay healthy,” he said. “I really commend Jaclyn for being the spark to revitalize the efforts with the pop-ups at the park, and our skate group Rolling Royalty fully supports her.”
