Founder and pioneer National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Dr Chekwas Okorie, yesterday, accepted the position of Chairman, Board of Trustees (BOT) of the party.

Okorie expressed humility and honour in accepting the role, thanking the National Working Committee and National Chairman, Edozie Njoku, for their support. In his acceptance speech during a press briefing in Abuja, Okorie reflected on APGA’s history, including his role in registering the party in 2002, and championing late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu’s presidential candidacy in 2003.
He said: “I remember, with nostalgia, the year 2002 when APGA was registered as a political party by the Independent National Electoral Commission . I willingly and happily set aside any personal ambition and persuasion to champion the push to present the late Ojukwu with the presidential ticket of APGA for the 2003.
