The Ohio State softball team was eliminated from the NCAA Tournament with a 5-1 loss to Oregon State on Saturday in a regional at Knoxville, Tennessee.
The Buckeyes finished 36-17. Oregon State advanced to the regional championship against Tennessee at 2 p.m. Sunday, with another game after that if needed. Mariahh Mazon homered and pitched the final two innings for Oregon State. Frankie Hammoude also homered for the Beavers.Earlier in the day, sophomore Allison Smith pitched a one-hitter and three Buckeyes homered as Ohio State defeated Campbell 10-0 Saturday in an NCAA softball regional in Knoxville, Tennessee.Ohio State jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI single by Sam Hackenbracht and a two-run home run by Niki Carver.
Taylor Pack homered in the fourth inning for a 4-0 lead. The Buckeyes added three more runs in the fifth on Kaitlyn Coffman's fielder's choice and a two-run single by Taylor Heckman. Hackenbracht hit a three-run homer in the sixth to cap the scoring.
