MANILA, Philippines — An overseas Filipino worker died in a building accident during the World Cup in Qatar, said the Department of Foreign Affairs on Thursday.
The agency was asked by the media about the supposed accident at a training base at a Qatari resort used by the Saudi Arabian team.“It is with regret that the Philippine Embassy in the State of Qatar confirms the death of a Filipino national who unfortunately met his demise while working at a resort in Mesaieed,” the DFA replied.
The DFA said that it is still getting more details from local authorities in Qatar about the incident.
