The state said its plows will work around the clock. In Northeast Ohio, crews will have access to more than 275,000 tons of salt for the winter.
The state agency is urging residents to take extra time and plan ahead for travel. It also is directing residents to, which offers views from hundreds of live traffic cameras, travel speeds and information on crashes or road closings.
A winter storm watch will take effect at 7 p.m., but rain showers could change to snow by the afternoon. Forecasters say heavy lake-effect snow is possible in eastern Cuyahoga County, as well as in Geauga, Lake and Ashtabula counties. Areas closer to the lake should see lighter amounts, but it’s still possible they could get heavier bands of snow.
