Alex Murillo sold fentanyl and methamphetamine to undercover officers in San Francisco, according to federal prosecutors.

SAN FRANCISCO – A 25-year-old Oakland man was sentenced Friday to three years in prison for selling fentanyl and methamphetamine in San Francisco’s Tenderloin District, federal prosecutors said.

Alex Murillo was arrested in June and later charged with eight counts, including possession with intent to distribute and distribution of at least 40 grams of fentanyl, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said in a statement Friday. Murillo pleaded guilty in October. Prosecutors said Murillo sold drugs to undercover officers five times last spring, including two ounces of fentanyl and three ounces of methamphetamine for $1,400 on June 8.

When Murillo was arrested outside his apartment, officers found four ounces of methamphetamine and 139 grams of fentanyl inside his backpack, prosecutors said. In addition to three years in prison, Murillo was ordered to serve four years of supervised release. Murillo was in custody and will begin serving his sentence immediately.
