A new bill pending in Albany would provide lifetime pensions for the children of slain NYPD cop Miosotis Familia, a single parent who was gunned down while on duty in the Bronx in 2017.

— who was killed execution-style while on duty in the Bronx in 2017.

Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz, D-Bronx, one of the bill’s co-sponsors, said the measure will provide support for Familia’s three children. The lawmaker explained that legislators “did not contemplate a situation like this” when they first crafted the pension rules. Instead, the benefits for Familia’s children — Genesis Villella, 26, and 18-year-old twins Peter and Delilah Vega — are due to max out when the younger siblings turn 21.

The new bill would allow Villella to qualify for “certain spousal accidental death benefits,” with the money split evenly between the three siblings.
