Gusty offshore winds and dry conditions will bring elevated fire conditions to the region

Gusty offshore winds and dry conditions, especially inland in Marin County and Santa Cruz, prompted the National Weather Service to issue a fire weather watch for the weekend.

The weather service says the Bay Area’s dry conditions are a result of the region’s humidity levels, which are forecasted to drop down between 15% to 25% this weekend. Forecasters say ridge tops and high terrain above 1,000 feet in Sonoma, Napa and Marin counties will be most vulnerable to fire risk.
