The car was reportedly stolen from a home in Landsborough during an alleged armed robbery at 2am.

An allegedly stolen brown Mercedes hatchback collided head-on with a Nissan Micra on Windsor Road in Burnside, near Nambour about 7.23am, according to police.

Witnesses followed the driver to a nearby home on Flinders Street, where he allegedly attempted to get away in a second vehicle, but members of the public managed to hold him there until police arrived.
