The number of international students studying at various higher education institutions (IPT) across Malaysia has surged to 167,000. This figure represents a 30% increase from the previous year's recorded 104,315 students. The students come from 179 countries and study in a range of fields, including private institutions.

PUTRAJAYA: Jumlah pelajar antarabangsa yang kini menuntut di pelbagai institusi pengajian tinggi seluruh negara dilaporkan sudah mencecah seramai 167,000 orang.

“Jumlah itu sejajar dengan Pelan Pembangunan Pendidikan Tinggi Malaysia 2015-2025 yang menyasarkan kemasukan kira-kira 250,000 pelajar antarabangsa bagi setiap tahun. Katanya, beliau turut menyokong usaha beberapa buah IPT awam membuka kampus pesisir di luar negara antaranya di Qatar dan Indonesia yang melonjakkan imej baik Malaysia.
