Labor also abolished the Coalition's policy giving homebuyers the choice to pay a yearly land tax and avoid stamp duty. That's despite the Productivity Commission finding land taxes were more efficient.Labor couldn't get this through parliament due to fears it would actually drive up prices.
It's earmarked $769 million to build them and their locations have been announced. The government has also reduced the cash feed in limits from $5,000 to $500 for new machines, banned pokie signage outside venues and banned donations from clubs with poker machines.
