New South Wales Premier Chris Minns has shed new light on a hot mic moment involving the Minister for Indigenous Australians Linda Burney. Linda Burney was overheard confiding in Chris Minns during an event in Sydney earlier this month about racial abuse she had received during a debate on the Voice to Parliament. Two weeks on, the Premier has told Sky News the comment from Minister Burney was triggered by the abuse she received on social media. Chris Minns says the comment was not a reference to the federal opposition or Liberal Leader Peter Dutton. “I didn’t quiz her about it at all; I take her at her word; I think she said subsequently it was about social media,”Mr Minns said.
