NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb has sacked the head of police media amid scrutiny over her public handling of an officer's alleged double murder.

Liz Deegan was told her services were no longer required less than a year after she was hired as the executive director of public affairs,Liz Deegan has been sacked from her role as executive director of public affairs for NSW Police. A NSW Police spokesperson confirmed her departure, saying the force would like to "wish her all the best in her future endeavours and thank her for her contribution".
