KUALA LUMPUR: The National Security Council , police and Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad will discuss ways to enhance security at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1 in the wake of Sunday's shooting incident.
Asked if placing metal detectors at airport entrances would be considered, Loke said this would require further discussion although there were no plans for it at the moment.“Any specific measures require consideration from all quarters and discussions will be carried out between MAHB and the police,” he said, adding that this will be held as soon as possible.
There was pandemonium at KLIA Terminal 1 on Sunday morning after gunshots were heard in the arrival hall. On Monday, Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said police have suggested improvements to security measures at the airport.
