KUALA LUMPUR: Authorities have placed two areas in Kuala Lumpur under what is called a “semi-enhanced” movement control order , to allow mass testing on residents there. The affected areas are Taman Wilayah and Taman Desa Bakti in Selayang, and parts of the Chow Kit area along Jalan Raja Bot in the city centre.

But Federal Territories Deputy Minister Edmund Santhara said people would still be allowed to move in and out of the area if they have valid reasons.He said the latest move was to allow authorities to conduct tests on all residents and foreign workers.Edmund said residents in Selayang were consulted on the move.He said only a small area surrounding the Chow Kit market would be affected.

“Foreigners without documentation will not be allowed to move out to facilitate the sampling process by the health ministry, he added.
