Notre Dame on Saturday posted a video showing the rib necklace of Sam Hartman before the Fighting Irish took on Navy in the first game of the regular season.

But before the ball was kicked off and the players entered the field, Hartman was seen with a reminder of what he went through before the 2022 season when he was at Wake Forest. The procedure included the removal of a rib near Hartman’s collarbone to give the blood vessels more space and prevent future clotting, according to The Athletic.
