PETALING JAYA: Nazirul Naim believes Perak can spring a surprise against Pahang in the first leg of the FA Cup semi-finals at the Darul Makmur Stadium on Saturday .

His confidence stems from their two convincing wins in the Super League - 1-0 win over Petaling Jaya City and 3-1 victory against Terengganu in the last two fixtures."We want to win in every competition. Perak can do well because we have experienced and young players with great quality,” said Nazirul, who was also in the team that won the Malaysia Cup last season."Our aim is to get into the final and get our game plan right in the two-legged semi-finals.

Pahang, who are second in the Super League, are not an easy side to beat as they have depth in their team. With captain Matthew Davies marshalling the defence, Nor Azam Azih in the midfield and Dickson Nwakaeme providing the steel and excitement in the attack, Pahang are on course to qualify for their third straight FA Cup final."Pahang have quality in every position but we should not fear them. Having played Pahang in the league, we know their strength lies in their attack."Every department is important.
