Piers Morgan has expressed his frustration at yet another environmentalist protest at a sporting event, revealing he was in attendance for the latest incident.
The media personality was in attendance at the iconic cricket ground for the beginning of the second match, however it was quickly disrupted within the first ten minutes when protesters rushed onto the field, throwing orange powder.
“The crowd was buzzing, it’s been an exciting series so far. The players come out, they’ve been out there for about 5-10 minutes and then you knew immediately what it was. Three idiots coming on throwing the orange powder is Just stop oil. “The people that should be mostly incensed by Just Stop Oil are people that are passionate about the environment – people that are true environmentalists because you’re like you don’t want to turn the public against your cause,” she said.
The protest caused a brief disruption in play as security guards, coupled with the help of England wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow, worked to eject the protesters from the hallowed turf.
