Radio presenter Neil Mitchell has called for 'somebody in the ABC' to be held to account for the public broadcaster's coronation coverage, which featured a lengthy panel debate about colonisation and suffering caused by the monarchy.

"Somebody in the ABC needs to be accountable of this. As the national broadcaster, it should have been the place you go to see the coverage of a coronation. Speaking to The Australian, chair of the Australian Monarchist League Eric Abetz described the public broadcaster's discussion during the King's coronation on Saturday as “completely unacceptable”.
In addition to the live broadcast, a spokesperson said the ABC also aired a number special programs about King Charles and the royal family, including Charles R: The Making Of A Monarch.
