State deputy police chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Abdullah Mohammad Piah said the weather might pose a danger as the Northeast monsoon season had yet to end.

"Police have been told to monitor the situation closely and act immediately if they come across any such activity," he told reporters here today. "Members of the public are advised to follow the directives given by the authorities to leave their homes.The Malaysian Meteorological Department recently issued a ‘yellow’ weather warning alert for several areas in five states beginning on Saturday.
