Northeast Florida high school Athlete of the Week poll: Dec. 27

The Times-Union recognizes Hilliard's Jaycie Noble as the Northeast Florida Athlete of the Week, and opens the new poll for December 19-24, 2022.

The senior scored six goals during the week as the Pirates won a pair of 8-0 county clashes over Yulee and West Nassau.The sophomore earned first place in the 190-pound division of the Knockout Christmas Classic in Kissimmee, which included leading wrestlers from around the Southeast.The senior midfielder scored both Nease goals as the Panthers rallied from behind to tie Creekside 2-2 in the Holiday Cup.

The sophomore forward helped the Tigers to victories over Camden County and Orange Park as Jackson's winning streak stretched to seven games.The junior stayed unbeaten on the season at 106 pounds, winning all three of his matches against other schools by fall to help the Golden Eagles to 313 points and the overall title at the Hammer Invitational at Oakleaf.The junior guard scored a school-record 52 points on 18 of 32 shooting to lead West Nassau past Ridgeview 80-77 on Tuesday night.
