Take, for instance, the way North West likes to insult her mom, Kim Kardashian West, whenever the two argue. “Every time I get into some kind of disagreement with my daughter North, she thinks this is a dig to me, and she’ll say, ‘Your house is so ugly,’” Kardashian West said during a recent “Mom Confessions” segment on Ellen.
Apparently North specifically mocks the décor in their very haunted-looking mansion, saying simply, “It’s all white. Who lives like this?” It would be hard to insult the home for anything other than the fact that almost everything is white, as that’s really its only defining feature. Still, it’s an effective dig because it does appear to get to her mom a little bit. “It is kinda mean,” Kardashian West admitted, “because I like my house.
If you need a refresher on what the house actually looks like, this comment Kanye West gave in an interview with Architectural Digest speaks for itself: “The proportions are the decoration.” That’s a roundabout way of saying that the home he and Kim bought together is hyper-minimalist, almost to the point of looking completely empty. Regardless, it’s a good thing Kim likes the spooky, giant house because it appears she’ll be keeping it in the divorce.
As for North, perhaps the urge to call her mom’s home “ugly” is a merely a part of her current goth phase. Or it’s a reminder that this child who recently had a poop-themed eighth birthday party truly does not care what anyone thinks.
