The water hazard of all water hazards at Springvale Golf Course is about to be cleaned out again.

City Council is expected to approve the popular venue’s regular dredging, which has an estimated cost of $50,000.

“Obviously we don’t want bacteria and algae to be growing there. But also every time we dredge, the capacity of the pond increases, which is always helpful in North Olmsted to hold more stormwater.” “This is another area where we know if we can increase the capacity by dredging and being able to hold more of that water, it’ll be beneficial when we get these large storms.”

The originally estimated $4.42 million project includes the installation of a 1.5-million-gallon, cast-in-place concrete tank to be located on roughly 7 acres west of the former Spruce Elementary School and south of I-480.“We’re still moving forward with those plans,” she said. “It’s still in engineering. The next part of that discussion is the former Spruce Elementary School property.”
