The NATO summit in Lithuania has been rocked by the latest missile test from North Korea, with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese condemning the “egregious” act.

Japanese and South Korean military confirmed the missile was fired from Pyongyang, North Korea, flying in the air for about an hour before landing in the waters west of Japan covering 1,000 kilometres.

“We're reminded of the interconnectedness around the world with the once again, egregious launch of an ICBM by North Korea overnight,” the Prime Minister said in Vilnius on Wednesday But tensions have continued to heighten since the rogue nation stepped up its weapons testing last year.
