PETALING JAYA: There were no Special Action Unit (UTK) officers involved in the alleged attack on reporters during a Perikatan Nasional event in Kelantan.
Police secretary Deputy Comm Datuk Noorsiah Mohd Saaduddin said the police had investigated the incident and they could confirm that there were no UTK officers involved."Stern action will be taken if investigations confirm that there were violations of code of ethics and the code of conduct by any officers while carrying out their duties at the event," said Noorsiah in a statement on Sunday .
"Close relations between media personnel and the police will be maintained so that the community will get accurate information from credible sources," added Noorsiah. Media advocacy group Gerakan Media Merdeka said a male journalist claimed he was slapped in the stomach while another female journalist claimed she was grabbed by the neck.
