Malaysia has no plan to increase taxes, Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has assured foreign investors."We have reduced taxes for imports of luxury goods and this helps businesses to grow because more people come to shop in Malaysia.
"The government will study to see if we can make it more attractive and business-friendly," he said at a dialogue session with Chinese investors here on Thursday .Dr Mahathir also assured investors that the country's policy would remain unchanged. "Malaysia is a very stable country, we do not change much so you can be comfortable with the rules and laws here.Dr Mahathir welcomed investors to voice any concerns and seek assistance from the government.
Also present at the event were six ministers, namely Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah , Darell Leiking , Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali , Anthony Loke , Datuk Salahuddin Ayub and Zuraida Kamaruddin , as well as Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir.
