When TonyaNero couldn’t find anything to satisfy her bold taste, she took matters into her own hands.
Nailing the right outfit is important for many runners, especially for Tonya Nero.
She was fed up with the drab and ill-fitting running clothes that she was finding on the shelves and online. Hardly anything fit her petite frame the way she liked, and even more so, nothing reflected her strong, bright sense of style.. “I mostly couldn’t find [running clothes] that matched too well. I’d think, ‘Ugh, my top doesn’t match my pants,’ and that kind of bothered me.”
Nero’s had an appreciation for style since she was a girl. Her mother was a seamstress and often created matching outfits for Nero and her sister. But even then, she was drawn to elaborate looks, and Nero felt her clothes were too simple. “If I’m immediately like, ‘Yes, I gotta get that!’ then that’s what I go for because it stands out,” she said.
