No roll-back of tariffs in trade truce with China, says US

THE trade truce with China set to be signed today does not include a deal to roll back tariffs imposed on most Chinese goods, said US officials in a statement yesterday. The joint statement from the Treasury and US trade representative’s office said “there is no agreement for a future reduction in tariffs. Any rumours to the contrary are categorically false”.
