: There is no immediate need to recalibrate the 2019 Budget following the recent decline of world crude oil prices, said Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.“It depends on how much it comes down. But not immediately because when it comes down, it will go up again.

Crude oil price is currently US$66 per barrel while the 2019 Budget’s calculations were made based on crude oil price of US$70 per barrel. In the statement issued after the weekly Cabinet meeting, Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng said the decision was in line with the Pakatan Harapan government’s commitment to help reduce the cost of living.
