The city government has reinstated the no face mask, no entry policy at the Iloilo City Hall due to the rising number of Covid-19 cases. ManilaBulletin READ:

"We have once again required the wearing of face masks inside Iloilo City Hall. Face masks will ensure that infection will not increase in closed areas while continuing with the services,” said Mayor Jerry Treñas in a statement.

Treñas said reinstating the face mask policy can be one way to keep the hospital utilization rate low and not add to any problems for the health care system. The mayor and his wife Rosalie were infected with Covid last month. He had recovered and reported back to work last Tuesday. The Iloilo City Health Office recorded 23 active Covid-19 cases as of April 12, more than double the total last month with four.

The number of positive Covid cases may be higher as the Covid-19 testing center was closed for the Holy Week and Araw ng Kagitingan .
