PETALING JAYA: There is no attempt to remove anybody from the party, be it Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi or Datuk Seri Najib Razak, says Umno deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.
"The question of removing anyone from their positions in Umno through amendments to the party constitution does not arise. There is no attempt at pushing out anyone ," said Mohamad, who is currently carrying out the duties of Umno President Ahmad Zahid.
Mohamad said it was not true that he wanted to oust Ahmad Zahid through the proposed party constitution amendment. "The Umno Supreme Council then would hold a one-day retreat to discuss and analyse the proposals and responses. "What we want to see from the amendments to the Umno constitution is that Umno is more open and it is easier for everyone and anyone who wants to be a member," said Mohamad.
