DES MOINES, Iowa – The thought of a potential win-or-go-home battle with Texas A&M didn’t elicit many sparks inside Texas’ locker room late Thursday night at Wells Fargo Arena.
“What, are we rivals?” quipped fifth-year senior Timmy Allen, an erstwhile Utah Ute and native Arizonan. After witnessing Penn State's onslaught against a Texas A&M squad that turned back into a pumpkin at the worst possible time, it’s clear this novel matchup will present a more stringent test for Texas than the Aggies ever could.
Texas handled that rancorous storm just fine in the first round. The more pressing concern Saturday will be the product Penn State actually puts out on the court.
