Bruins will travel to Las Vegas for a second consecutive year to play in the Continental Tire Main Event on ESPNU
The Bruins routed Norfolk State 86-56 on Monday night at Pauley Pavilion for their third consecutive home victory this season. Jaylen Clark – again – was the star of the show with a team-high 19 points, including a career-high five 3-pointers, nine rebounds and two steals. Amari Bailey looked his best this season, shooting 5 for 6 from the field for 11 points and dishing out five assists.The Fighting Illini also last played Monday, crushing Monmouth 103-65 at home behind Terrance Shannon Jr.
He had 21 points with five 3-pointers in the win over Monmouth.UCLA, with Bailey and Adem Bona, won’t be the only team starting a freshman Friday night. Illinois starts freshman point guard Skyy Clark, a Los Angeles native who played high school basketball at Northridge’s Heritage Christian for two seasons before transferring out of state. During Skyy Clark’s freshman year of high school, he was at Oaks Christian with Bailey.
