Jamal Shead an Edwards delivered 3-pointers after halftime as the Cougars led by double figures for most of the second half. Edwards had 12 of his game-high 20 points — all on 3-pointers — in the second half. Edwards was 6-of-12 from 3-point range.
Carlton had 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting and six rebounds and J’Wan Roberts came off the bench for a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Moore added 15 points for the Cougars, who also advanced to the AAC tournament championship game in 2018, 2019 and 2021.
