TOKYO: Nissan Motor will continue to take legal action against Carlos Ghosn to hold the former chairman to account, the Japanese carmaker said on Tuesday (Jan 7).

The fact that the 65-year-old fled before facing trial in Japan on financial misconduct charges was"extremely regrettable," Nissan said in a statement.

Also on Tuesday, the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office obtained an arrest warrant for Ghosn’s wife on suspicion of perjury, Kyodo News reported. Ghosn left his home in Tokyo alone on the afternoon of Dec29 and walked about 800 m to a hotel, where he met the two, broadcaster NHK reported, citing unnamed investigative sources.
