Radically styled minivan to be shown at Tokyo with swivelling seats, inbuilt VR headsets and a floor made out of LEDs
Nissan has unveiled the Hyper Tourer concept to preview a future high-tech luxury minivan as the third in a series of cars that it will launch at the Tokyo motor show. The Hyper Tourer will be on display at the show in physical form, while the previously shown Hyper Adventure and Hyper Urban will appear only digitally.
However, Nissan’s development – allowing much higher-load connections – is significant in that it would allow the car’s high-capacity battery to become a functional part of the national grid. It could allow for the sale of electricity in the car’s battery back to the national grid amid spikes in demand, or to maintain the supply of electricity to a house during a blackout – increasing the reliability of energy infrastructure.
