Police raided a newly opened nightclub in Kuala Lumpur, detaining 136 foreign women suspected of working as guest relations officers (GROs). The raid, conducted under Ops Gegar, revealed 'garlands' indicating tip amounts ranging from RM100 to RM100,000. Some detainees attempted to hide during the operation.
The police recently raided a nightclub on Jalan Loke Yew that had only been operating for two months.
As part of the raid, 136 foreign women were detained as part of the raid on suspicion of working as guest relations officers . Kuala Lumpur Immigration director-general Wan Mohammed Saupee Wan Yusoff said they had been investigating the premise for two weeks. “Among the women detained, some were using Spouse Passes, but when asked where their husbands were, they could not answer,” he shared.
