“Maritime transport remains the gateway to the global marketplace. Ports are catalysts for economic development as they enable trade and support supply chains,” he said. He said that this was done to encourage the exportation of more made-in-Nigeria goods as well as non-oil exports from the country. In his address, the President of the Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture , Chief Odeiga Jideonwo commended NPA for the strategic role and commitment of the parastatal as well as the central role they play in the socio-economic lives of the people.

The Federal Roads Safety Corps said on Thursday that strengthening its partnership with the media would ensure an adequate flow of information to save lives and minimise highway carnages. Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Ododo, has condoled with the former governor of the state, Ibrahim Idris, over the demise of his son, and the former member, Mohammed Idris, who represented Ankpa/Olamaboro/Omala Federal Constituency in the green chamber.
