Troops of the Nigerian Army, under Operation Safe Haven, code-named Hakorin Damisa IV, have arrested 34 suspects in connection with kidnapping, violent attacks, cattle rustling, and other criminal activities in Kaduna State.
The Nigerian Army disclosed this on Tuesday through its official X handle, noting that the suspects were arrested between 22 and 29 October 2023. According to the Army, among the suspects arrested was arms dealer Zaharadeen Lukman, known as Dandini, at Ashawuce village in Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Also, the Troop arrested Mr Lawal Suleiman, a member of a gunrunning syndicate specialized in the illegal distribution of arms and ammunition to criminals in Southern Kaduna.
Others are Abdullahi Ibrahim Muhammed, Gyang Yusuf, Ishaku Gata, Gidado Lere, Saleh Jibril, Iliyasu Salisu, Abdulsalam Shuaibu, Abubakar Sabiu Yau'u, Bawa Ahmad and Mr Buwa Tafawa arrested for various criminal offences. Meanwhile, the troops deployed at Sector 5 rescued Mrs Favour Bitrus at Gada Biu village in Bokkos LGA, who was kidnapped at Fakkos village in Bokkos LGA.
