Momentum Health Solutions says the state won't need to raise additional taxes to fund the primary care rollout of NHI if it allows the private sector to expand to low-income markets.If the government allowed the private sector to expand its affordable healthcare solutions, it wouldn't need to raise additional taxes to fund the initial rollout of the National Health Insurance , according to Momentum Health Solutions.

The company - which administers several medical schemes in SA that serve approximately a fifth of the medical aid population - says the state does not need to kill the private sector to achieve universal healthcare coverage.
