From Manor High to the LA Rams, Ochaun Mathis has always has his sights set on next level success.
PUBLISHED 5:05 PM CDT May 19, 2023AUSTIN, Texas — Ochaun Mathis started playing football in middle school despite it not being the sport his mom was hoping he would try.Signed with TCU and played for four years there“I wanted him to play basketball to be honest,” says Ochana Mathis, Ochaun’s mother. “But he chose his own path, and I knew then, when he started having his own mindset, it was something different.
“What these sports can take me and what my athletic ability is,” says Ochaun. “Where it could take me in the future and brought me to this point today.” “I had to step aside and have a talk with my son and reassure him that you are going to be called,” says Ochana. “Today is your day.” “When he got that call it was surreal, it’s still surreal,” says Ochana. “It was a sigh of relief because I knew that day was going to be his day.”
