KOTA KINABALU: A newborn baby boy was discovered in front of a house in Kampung Lok Urai, Pulau Gaya, around 5.30am on Friday, said district police chief ACP Kasim Muda.
The discovery was reported to the Pulau Gaya Police Station by the village chief around 6am, prompting a team to be dispatched for initial investigations.
Advertisement Kasim said the infant was found wrapped in a batik cloth inside a green bag placed at the foot of the house staircase by a local man. The man brought the baby onto his veranda and alerted the village chief, who then informed the police.
