New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio launches his Democratic presidential bid, despite polls that show he holds little national appeal
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio launched a long-shot run for the Democratic presidential nomination Thursday, touting his progressive beliefs and experience running the nation’s largest city.
Mr. de Blasio, 58 years old, became the 23rd person to join the 2020 Democratic race. It features one of the largest-ever candidate fields and includes former Vice President Joe Biden, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren and South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg.
