A new space radar has recently been commissioned by LeoLabs in Western Australia as the “sixth site around the Earth”, according to LeoLabs President Terry Van Haren.

“The Western Australian Space Radar is actually two radars, and it’s our sixth site around the Earth and radars nine and ten,” he told Sky News Australia.

“But these two radars are very large surveillance systems, they are surveying all of low Earth orbit here in the Southern hemisphere. “The two radars here in Collie, Western Australia work in unison with our other radars but more importantly the Kiwi space radar on South Island, New Zealand.”
