Three new MRT stations will link the Downtown Line from Bukit Panjang station to the North-South Line at Sungei Kadut. When completed by 2035, it will give commuters in the North-West region alternative travel and transfer options.
LTA says it will implement a monitoring and management plan, along with mitigation measures during the construction of the new stations. These will minimise the environmental impact. Dr Terence Fan from the Singapore Management University talks about how the new stations could help with connectivity and rail resilience, and also the importance of environmental sensitivity during construction.
