The city will welcome a Look Cinemas at Town Center Colleyville later this year in the former Studio Movie Grill location, according to a news release from the city.
“The city has worked with Look and the owner of the shopping center for the last several months on this economic development win for the city,” the city announced in the release.by the former CEO of Studio Movie Grill, Brian Schultz. There are two other North Texas locations, one in Dallas and one in Arlington.
Studio Movie Grill grew from one theater in Dallas in 1993 to 35 locations in 10 states, but it filed for bankruptcy in 2020 in the wake of the pandemic. There are seven locations still operating in North Texas, according to SMG’sThe news release said that Look has “applied for occupancy and will make initial improvements inside to open by the spring/summer movie season.”
